Cyber Warfare

It’s the 21st century now. Over the past few years, human civilization has seen immense growth in the domain of technology. We’ve now built gadgets and devices no one could even think of around 50 years ago. What was believed to be magic then, is proved to be a reality now! The human race has seen lots of wars, deaths, and conflicts over the past few centuries. The future is going to be different, a lot different from what we can imagine right now. We’re moving towards an era where there is actually no need to go out on the battlefield. Hackers might be the new warriors!
Wars Of The Future: 1. The wars of the future won’t be waged on the battlefield. 2. Without firing one bullet or dropping a single bomb, a nation can cause significant damage to its adversary nation. 3. The barrier for entry to cyber warfare is very low (much lower than building nuclear weapons), hence smaller or less powerful nations can get into action. 4. A nation can be denied access to electricity or even communication. 5. Malicious programs can easily shut down the electrical grid or networks of a huge area at once. 6. ATMs, Stock Market, Communications could be shut down.
Something similar to this has already taken place in Iran, almost a decade ago. Stuxnet, a malicious computer worm uncovered in Iran in 2010, was responsible for the destruction of over 2,00,000 computers and caused substantial damage to Iran’s Nuclear Program.
The New Norm: 1. This type of covert warfare could become the new norm. 2. A nation can be easily brought down to its knees without a solid cyber defense system. 3. Why fight a war when you can simply get what you want without conflict. 4. The entirety of the modern world lies in connectivity. And without it, everything will just fall apart. 5. What’s worse is that we may not even know we’re under attack. Whether or not a bullet is fired, the casualties could be immense! Yes, the future is exciting but equally menacing at the same time!
